LAKE FOREST CROSS COUNTRY 2017
The Lake Forest Cross Country Team will be starting soon! The team is open to all boys and girls in 3rd through 5th grades. Ms. Russell and Mr. Dixon are excited to coach our team this season. Please take a minute to read the following information:
Sign Ups: Permission slips were given to interested students beginning Thursday, 8/17. Permission slips must be filled out completely and returned to the student's teacher or the school office. Thanks!
Practice: Practices will be Wednesday and Friday mornings before school from 7:45-8:30 (starting August 23rd). We will practice twice a week on the playground/track until our first meet and then we will only meet one time each week---date/time to be announced. We will all meet at the top of stairs leading to the field before each practice. Please make sure you have running shoes on, bring a water bottle, and get ready to get fit! We will be able to use our new track in early September but will use the blacktop until then.
Meets: Meets are held on Wednesdays or Thursdays after school. Events generally will start at 3:30, but we will need to check-in 30 minutes before the meet to walk the course so you know where to run. The first event is at the El Dorado Hills CSD on Thursday, September 7th.
Transportation: A bus will be provided and required for some away meets but not for the return trip. Students will be excused from class early on meet days if needed. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide transportation home from the event. Parents will be responsible for signing their children out at the end of meets before leaving so we can make sure everybody arrives home safely. More information on buses and pick up will be shared soon.
Participation and shirt size forms are due back by Tuesday, August 22. You can turn it in to the folder in the office or to your child’s teacher as soon as possible. We are asking for a donation of $25 to offset costs. If you can donate, please make checks out to Lake Forest School. Thanks for your support of our programs. We are looking forward to another great season!

This year we are asking for a $20 donation from all runners that will help cover transportation fees and t-shirt costs. The shirt will be the student's to keep at the end of the season.
