What is the All for Books program and WHY do we participate?
Lake Forest has participated in Scholastic’s All for Books program for the past four years in conjunction with our fall Book Fair. This program promotes reading and benefits children in three ways, helping to ensure all children have access to books.
Money collected goes directly toward the purchase of exciting new books for your child’s classroom.
- The Scholastic Possible Fund matches every donation, up to $1 million in books, received through the program and distributes them to children in need through organizations such as Kids In Need Foundation, Reader to Reader, Inc., and the National Center for Families Learning.
- All sales for classroom books are added to our fair total resulting in additional funding for our school library.
***During the week of October 8th students can donate loose change and dollar bills toward books for their classroom. On Monday each classroom will be collecting pennies; Tuesday nickels; Wednesday dimes; Thursday quarters; and Friday dollars and checks (please make them out to Lake Forest School). The All for Books program will only be offered during the fall Book Fair.*** On behalf of the students and teachers of Lake Forest, THANK YOU!
Monday = pennies
Tuesday = nickels
Wednesday = dimes
Thursday = quarters

NOTE: The All for Books coin drive will only be held during the fall Book Fair.
